Frequency of fuel display update?

Is the fuel consumption display updated every lap or every n seconds during the race?

Depend on the digital system you use:
For SCX digital : immediatly
For Scalextric Digital : Fuel consumption is updated on every lap

I am at a little bit of a loss to understand why SSD fuel display would only update every lap and not at least every second... so basically as long as you cross the start/finish line then you can run freely on empty all through the next lap and into the pit to refuel? The throttle position information is coming though every time you check the stream for a completed lap so why can't you do a simple calculation and update the fuel display at that time?

In fact i already implemented the real time fuel consumption for SSD (base on throotle) but actualy it's disable because that functionnality need a powerful computer: this weekend i will make a test with my P4 3Ghz and see if it work, if it's not to slow i will add a option to activate or not that functionnality.
It work well with SCX because SCX integrate fuel management in the powerbase self and so the powebase make all calculation and send the fuel tank information ( 8/8 to 0/8 )....Pc Lap Counter just need to see if the tank information have changed (more easy and take no so much process).

That would be great... although it doesn't necessarily have to be "real-time" per se but perhaps every second or a couple of times per second... maybe the update rate could be user selectable so slower PCs may still get fuel updates more often than every lap without killing their machines and those with beefier machines could get faster updates.

Making in real time is to slow so i make like you suggest : you can send fuel information every X,XXX seconds.
Developpment is finish but need to make some more test and finish other development.
