Pc Lap Counter for N-Digital Powerbase 108

Pc Lap Counter for the Ninco Digital powerbase 108 will be released soon, to connect the powerbase 108 to the PC you will need a special cable, no need to modify the powerbase anymore

je n'ai jamais entendu parler de la Powerbase 108, est ce la nouvelle base ND qui devrait sortir?

La powerbase 1.08 n’est pas vraiement une nouvelle powerbase, c’est juste une powerbase avec un nouveau firmware qui envoi enfin les infos de passages via le connecteur PS2 (les anciennes powerbases n’envoyaient que la position de la voiture).
Comment savoir si votre powerbase est une powerbase version 1.08.... pas évident :
Depuis janvier 2010 les circuits Ninco digital sont livrés avec la powerbase 1.08 mais les magasins peuvent avoir en stock des anciennes version.
Le problème est que depuis la version 1.05 la powerbase n’affiche plus la version, on sait que la 1.06 est la première à ne plus afficher la version , la 1.07 a un mode Amateur/Pro, la 1.08 est identique à la 1.07 mais en plus elle envoi les info de passages via la connexion PS2
Donc pour l’instant le seul moyen de savoir si votre powerbase est une version 1.08 est de demander à votre revendeur.

The powerbase 1.08 is not really a new powerbase, it’s just a powerbase with a update of the firmware which send now laps information through the PS2 connector (previous powerbase was sending only cars positions...).
How to know if your powerbase is a 1.08 one... it’s difficult to know:
The new Digital kits and tracks of Ninco since January 2010 are being delivered with powerbase 1.08 but shops can have old stocks.
The problem is that since 1.05 the Power base is not longer displaying the version, we know that the 106 is the first one that was not showing the firmware version, but after that all show the same, so we know them because:
1.06 is the first not showing firm version
1.07 changed the delivery ramps to the track (more confortable and discrimined modes between amateur and Pro).
1.08 is the same as 1.07 but giving the lap info through the PS2.
So at this moment the only way to know if your powerbase is a 1.08 is to ask to your reseller !

quel est le câble spécial qui permet de connecter directement la Base à l'ordi?

Le cable sera fait par Rich.G, membre du forum slotforum qui fournit déja des cables pour connecter le Scalextric digital et le Carrera Digital au PC.
Le cable pour le Ninco Digital sera un cable PS2/USB, idéal pour les nouveaux PC qui n'ont pas de port série.

avec la PB 108 est-il nécessaire d'utiliser encore le multilane sensor et le BS Mod V1 pour brancher PCLC?

Non , fondamentalement avec la powerbase 1.08 vous n’avez pas besoin de fabriquer du matériel supplémentaire ou de modifier la powerbase pour utiliser Pc Lap Counter car la powerbase 1.08 envoi les infos de passages, le chrono ainsi que le niveau de carburant mais pour l’instant la powerbase 1.08 n’envoi pas d’info concernant les entrées/sorties des stands (Pit stop), pour envoyer l’info d’entrées/sorties des stands il faut modifier un “Ninco Digital Multi Lane sensor” (Ref: NI40206) pour le connecter au PC en suivant le schéma Multi lane connection ou utiliser le port ‘Pit’ de votre BS interface v1.1.
Pour un circuit avec 4 pistes il est aussi possible d’utiliser un Ninco ‘Digital Multi Lane sensor’ pour envoyer les passages des pistes 3,4 au PC ou vous pouvez utiliser le port S/F de votre BS interface v1.1.

No, basically with the powerbase 1.08, you don’t need to build any additional hardware or modify your powerbase to use Pc Lap Counter as the powerbase 1.08 send lap, lap time and fuel level information but at this moment the powerbase 1.08 not send any information on Pit entries, to send Pit entries information to Pc Lap Counter you need to transform the Ninco Digital Multi Lane sensor (Ref: NI40206) to connect it to the computer by following the Multi lane connection schema or use your existing BS interface v1.1 Pit port.
Also for a 4 lanes track it’s possible to connect a Ninco Digital Multi Lane sensor to the computer to send S/F information for lane 3,4 or use your existing BS interface v1.1 S/F port.

J'ai essayé de savoir si ma PB transmettait les infos nécessaires pour utiliser la nouvelle version PCLC, mais aucun revendeur ne peut me le dire, ils ne sont même pas au courant qu'un nouveau firmware existait!

Je viens d'acheter une powerbase Ninco Digital récemment, ne sachant pas quelle version j'avais, j'ai essayé...

J'ai la chance d'avoir visiblement une version 1.08 car j'ai essayé tout d'abord avec un câble prise DB9 et par la suite avec un cable TTL, ça marche nickel !

Concernant la gestion d'essence, n'est-il pas possible de gérer le remplissage via le bouton de changement de voie en laissant appuyer pour remplir le réservoir (même style que pour le SSD) ? De mémoire, la base 6 ancienne génération, ne gère pas le pit-in non plus.

Malheureusement ce n'est pas possible car la powerbase n'envoi pas l'information "changement de voie"

C'est bien dommage ! Après le SSD et le D132, je découvre le Ninco Digital et je le trouve fort sympathique !

En espérant qu'un jour Ninco rajoute cette information à la powerbase !

Ninco always denied any PB upgrade. If they would anounce it, it would suppose a lot of investment in repairing/modifying/upgrading old PB.

According to releases seen on PB we told them 106, 107, 108, and they know what we're talking about, but can't agree.
For sure there are other versions and internally are other numbers, but that's the ID's we gave in the "outside world"

I am very surprised about this answer from NINCO ...
PCLAPCOUNTER is the most advanced software in slot racing, and Guy is a very serious developer.
How programming a software for a hardware that doesn't exist ???
I wanted tu buy right now a NINCO digital track, but i will wait this to be crystal clear.
Michat at Mondialtec gave me an answer as well that the version is not very clear : hard (impossible ?) to know before connecting to PCLC ...
