| Hi
I'm a new owner of PLC and Scalextric (SDD). Just seen the note about having up to 3 powerbases connected PLC for detecting Pit IN / OUT.
Well, I have 2 powerbases, but can I put them into my track with power (AC-connection) on both without doing any damage on the electronic? Or are the Pit IN / OUT detctor Powerbase sitting on the track without power (AC-connection)?
Regards! Jim | |

| Each powerbase have his independant power.... you just have to connect the 2 powerbase to the computer on 2 free serial port, If your computer do not have 2 serial port you can buy a USB adapter to add serial port.
REM: To connect the powerbase to the computer you need a special cable (more information on my website) and in your case you will need 2 cables | |

| Thanks Guy! I have 2 AUX-cables. The one Powerbase I've connected to the PC with an USB / Seriel adaptor. It works fine! So I need another adaptor to connect my second Powerbase.
But I worry about connecting two powerbases to the curcuit, if they could make any damage to each other or to the cars via the power through the tracks. Scalextric have some warnings like "Do not use any standard powerbase including Challender and Pacersystem, in a circuit that contains the Sport Digital Power Base. It may damage the Sport Digital Powerbase".
So no standard Power Base will go, but another Sport Digital Power Base will do all right?

| Hi Well, now I've posted the the issue in Slotforum.com and I've got one answer: -------------------- STOP! DO NOT CONNECT MORE THAN ONE POWERBASE OF ANY TYPE INTO YOUR CIRCUIT. UNLESS... YOU HAVE DONE THE 2 POWERBASE MODIFICATION. http://www.slotforum.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=17957 ----------------- Is that right? Do I really have open the two Powerbases and do these modifications inside the Powerbases for using one off them as a Pitstop-detector? Anyone who has done that - or is there som other workaround? Regards, Jim | |
