Not receiving signal from Scalextric Digital

I have tried setting up your software on a laptop using a Scalextric Sport Digital track and the ready built cable from amoslot.de (along with a serial to USB adaptor)

When I start up the program I go to setup, switch to the only responsive COM port (COM3) and get as far as :
"Opening COM3...
Reading COM3, waiting signal from Scalextric Digital...."
Then the setup stops.

The light at the right is on yellow rather than green and nothing I do to the Scalextric seems to prompt the program to receive a signal.

An Advice? I am intending to buy this system - if I can get it working!

In Pc Lap Counter Try all COM port, when using a USB adaptor windows add for exemple a COM3 but in reality it's COM5 .

I have tried all 8 possible com ports, the result was the same. The system seems to see that a cable is present, but is not communicating with the SCX Digital ata all, Help!

To be sure , did you have a SCX Digital track or a Scalextric Digital
For imformation Pc Lap Counter is not yet compatible with SCX Digital

If you have a Scalextric Digital, can you see if your computer receive data from powerbase like this:

Click on "debug" button like here:



Data stream is displayed and you can save it in HTML table format like here:



if your computer receive data it should work.

I have sorted it! I believe it was something do do with the drivers for my USB to Serial adaptor (I think!)
Anyway, thanks for your fast & helpful responses, I should be buying the full version soon!

Did you use a USB/Serial adaptor ?
Did you make the cable your self or it come from Rich G ?
