Phidgets 8/8/8 Flaw Empty
PostSubject: Phidgets 8/8/8 Flaw   Phidgets 8/8/8 Flaw Empty21/12/2006, 21:11

We have discovered a flaw in the Phidgets 8/8/8 that will causes it to function completely different then the 0/16/16. We are talking to the manufacture to see what we can do about these issues. It has do do with the way the lap count pulses are "read." This is not a software flaw at all! Again, we are working on it and let everyone know when we come up with a solution.

Phidgets 8/8/8 Flaw Empty
PostSubject: phidget in general   Phidgets 8/8/8 Flaw Empty23/12/2006, 00:25

Hi there

I am considdering to buy one of the phidget cards from you - in that connection have a couple of questions:

1. does the 8/8/8 card include control of power like the 0/0/4 ?
2. if we decide to use the phidget card - is no signal amplifier necessary for our IR readers?

Hoping that you can help me on this

Smile

It depends on what kind of signal your IR system outputs. The 8/8/8 wants to see a ground signal pulse, where the 0/16/16 (the same price as the 8/8/8 ) wants to see a 3-30V+ DC Pulse. These two boards are 100% different in how they "read" from the Digital Inputs. The 0/0/4's are perfect for power and signal control.
