PostSubject: a few questions   a few questions Empty22/11/2008, 15:29

i am currently building a pit lane like this

a few questions DSC00790

I have ssd PB pro and would like to use phidgets to detect cars in the pits. I wanted to have a sensor in each of the 4 (possibly extended to 6) bays so that the car would simply stop over it to refuel. This also means that a car could not refuel in any bay but his own. I would also like to have start lights although i may do this using a lpt port.

So my question....
what card should i be looking at? - i do not want to spend too much money
what sensors are required to detect not only the car but its id?

thanks alot

Duncan

Phidget interface can not send the car id.
If you put sensor on each bay it can work but the only problem is that when a car stop on the wrong bay (it will start refueling on wrong car).
For starting lights and other lights , no need to use LPT port...phidget interface have also output digital IO.
Regarding you explanation, you need a phidget interface with at least 6 inputs and 7 outputs for starting lights and maybe more for other lights (http://www.pclapcounter.be/other_light.html), think you need the 0/16/16.

To connect sensor to phidget interface 0/16/16 , look diagram 2 here:

I found this video in the net. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnGKl09j4I8
Using PCLC, they detect the car using a RFID solution.

Hope it helps.
Eduardo.

I started Phidget RFID integration in PCLC but i stop it because i have see that the Phidget Reader was not working good with 2 cars on the track...due to magnetic perturbation of the track.
