How to show Team standing during the race?

At our events we run in 2 teams and we award titles Best Team (most laps over 30 or 60 minutes) individual award for fastest lap and most laps for the evening.
Teams consists of 6 to 12 racers per team and we have a 2 lane track ( Ninco ) using an Arduino based system for lap counting.

What is the best way to set this up in PC Lap counter? Will it be possible to show team standings on the screen?

Thank you fir the video guide - excellent, now I can focus on Arduino development and enjoy the night at the races with the teams.
