The C7042 has 6 functions with the automated ("pace") cars. They are Gn, Gr, Gc, Ln, Lr and Lc. "G" stands for no lap count. "L" stands for lap count. "n" stands for no lane changing. "r" stands for random lane changing. "c" stands for constant lane changing.
I use the setting Lr the most. It really makes racing with multiple automated ("pace") cars a real challenge. I usually set the pace car speeds at different levels to make it really interesting.
The C7042 also has a function called PrPit adn PoPit. These functions help in aiding the automated ("pace") cars not to enter in the pit areas. The pit lane must be placed after the start (PrPit) or before the start (PoPit). This function disables the pace cars from changing lanes, and thusly stops a pace car from going full speed into the pit lane and crashing into a fueling car (which is stopped). The settings for PrPit and PoPit can be determined by user in seconds.
So, if you want a lane changing automated ("pace") car; you will need a way to not allow the automated ("pace") car not to enter the pits and have a devistating crash with another car. It gets pretty expensive.
Guy, I would like to add both functionalities to the next generation of PCLC.
Thank you,
Glenn
