Ok, Track has 3 lanes. There are 3 teams with 2 drivers each. Race total time is 2hrs. I want each heat to have 20 minutes with a total of 6 heats. ___________________________________
After selecting teams I go back to set the time for the race: 2:00hrs, segments of 20mins and the software shows that correct number of segments: 6. I click on the generate button that brings me to the Heats Editor Screen. There, I click on generate again and the software only generates 3 heats. It appears to be generating heats for the first driver of each team only.
What am I doing wrong here?
Thank you, Ary.

Heat editor is for individual races and not for team races , for team races : in the race setting just fill the Team column and the rotation sequence in the column “Rotation lane” , here a video showing the race setting for a team race:

All right, got that part.
Now I have a rotation problem: Here is the setup:
Team one: Racer 1 to Racer 2 Racer 2 to Racer 3 Racer 3 to Racer 1
Team two: Racer 4 to Racer 5 Racer 5 to Racer 6 Racer 6 to Racer 4
Team three: Racer 7 to Racer 8 Racer 8 to Racer 9 Racer 9 to Racer 7
Rotation: Team 1 - Start on Lane 1 (Yellow) going to Lane 3 (Green) Team 2 - Start on Lane 2 (Blue) going to Lane 1 (Yellow) Team 3 - Start on Lane 3 (Green) going to Lane 2 (Blue)
Here are the heats the software generated:
Everybody is racing on the same lanes. How can I fix that?

For the lane rotation is not a problem, i assume you found the way to make it, for the drivers rotation inside a team :
- If you know in advance the driver order in each team you can specify the driver sequence in the team management and during rotation Pc Lap Counter will also update automaticaly the driver:
Of couse during the race you can change the driver by using the update button and enter directly the driver ID or change manualy by choosing the driver name:

Basically what you are telling me is that I need to rotate the drivers by hand, the software won't do it? Also, how would do a round robin with 4 teams on a 3 lane track?

Not exactly, the software will do it for you if you specify the shift driver in the team setting screen

Simple : even you have a 3 lanes track set the race to use 4 lanes and play with the rotation, as you have only 3 lanes each time a team rotate to lane 4 PCLC will not count any laps.

Guy,
The rotation does not work, it doesn't rotate anything. I'm also unable to edit all the heats at once and get them in order. To edit a heat I have to do it one by one as they are raced, thus stopping every heat. I mean ... honestly?!?
I just tried to run a simple race with 3 drivers. The idea is to have the drivers race 9 heats on a 3 lane track, racing 3 times in each lane. If I set the correct racing duration to 90 minutes, with 10 minutes per heat, the software fill the segments with 9 heats. If I click ok, without generating the heats, the rotation doesn't work but I do get 9 useless heats. If I click on generate heats, the software generates the heats based on the segment time and gives me 3 heats, ignoring the 9 I had specified.
There just doesn't seem to be a way around this.
Here is a video showing the problem:

Subject: Lane rotation vs Driver Rotation 17/5/2011, 14:23
Hi Guy, I think what/who is getting rotated during the race is getting lost in the conversation. The problem (as we see it) is that the program is not rotating drivers through the different lanes. It rotates the drivers through the relief schedule just fine, but after each team races every member in the same lane once we need the entire team to be rotated to the next lane.
So Team1/Racer1 and Team1/Racer2 both drive their 10 minute stints in Lane 1. (Two heats.) In the third heat we need Team1 to move to the Lane 2 and run two heats, then in fifth heat they would move to Lane 3, and so on, and so on... Of course each team would follow the prescribed lane rotation sequence.
And finally, for endurance races, it would be great if teams would keep rotating through every lane until the specified time expired. (i.e. A 4 hour race on a 3 lane track with 20 minute heats for each driver would have each team racing in each lane twice.)
Thanks, Brian

Just take a look at the rotations and you will understand our problem.

This is what you want:
Team 1 - Start on Lane 1 (Yellow) going to Lane 3 (Green) Team 2 - Start on Lane 2 (Blue) going to Lane 1 (Yellow) Team 3 - Start on Lane 3 (Green) going to Lane 2 (Blue)
So your rotation sequence should be 3 , 1 , 2

Guy,
Not very much improvement after changing the lane rotation order to: 1 to 3, 2 to 1, 3 to 2. The drivers are still racing all their 3 heats on the same lane, the only think that changed was the order in which they race the same lanes.
What needs to happen is all the drivers rotating through all lanes. I'm including a table with the correct rotation we are looking after:
Thank you.

ok now i understand what you want, all the drivers of a team need to race on the lane before the lane rotation occur, unfortunately that's not possible to setup this kind of rotation with Pc Lap Counter
