LPT problems in PCL

Hi Guy

As you can see in the subforum concerning phidgets we are hoping that someone can help us with the wiring for our sensors.

Actually so far we have been using LPT connection for our sensors, this via another lapcounting program where it worked without any problems. Now we had to use it for PCL (since couldn't get the phidget setup to work) and this caused massive problems with missed lapcounts.

We have tried everything from changing minimum pulse length and everything else, but everytime 2 or more cars cross the line at almost the same time it doesn't count the laps. I have tried several setups tonight all with the same result - did however discover that the error rate was much higher when using the zoom window (just for your guidance :-) )

But the most interesting discovery was the fact, that the old program does not have this issue (also tested this tonight), and tried yet at third program also without probs - could the error lay somewhere in the LPT interface program that PCL uses?

To solve it i need to use 'multi thread' programmation but the language i use can't do it...so i have to rewrite the LPT part of Pc lap Counter with a new language that can use 'multi thread'.
I know the language i have to use but i need time to learn it, so patience...

Absolutely no problem, just wanted to let you know my observations in regards to the missed lap counts in PCL

We have as you can see already in another thread - bought the Phidget 0/16/16 interface card, and will be changing our lapdetection to this system on friday (all going well)

Still hope off course that you will be able to correct the problem with the LPT port as many still use this interface for lapcounting
